Blues berry Fest is October 7th from 11:30-9pm at Bogue Falaya Park in Covington, LA!
The festival is one full day of music on three stages! There is a food truck alley, food and wine experience, and a children's village! Not to mention all kinds of visual artists selling their custom-made crafts and art! What a fest!
And I really was beyond excited when I got the invitation to design the 2023 artwork for the fest. I love festivals and have been attending them since I was little. I love music, culture and learning history so this festival is a God send.
Whenever I get the opportunity to design something like a poster, I take time to pray and seek what could I paint that would really resonate with others and make them smile. I want to bring joy. Look a lot of people are hurting and not doing so well, so if I can use my talent to make someone else feel encouraged or smile then I know I am doing what God has called me to do.
Honestly it is difficult to come up with an idea for a poster all on your own, which is why I seek God's guidance. I am a spiritual person and praying gives me peace.
The idea for this poster comes from the idea that music should lead you to a better place. Blues is called blues for a reason. It is important that you get the blues out of you and create something beautiful with it. This poster is a cry to all peoples, especially creatives to use their gifts to entertain and encourage others who may be blue. Without your gift shining, others may never find their voice and in turn want to lead.
Take the notes one step at a time and cross those turbulent waters to find a place that has been waiting for you all along. A place of peace, where others now know their way.

So thankful for this team, Sarah, Sarah and Sarada are such beautiful people who believed I could create something beautiful for the fest. I am so thankful they had faith in me and so blessed to have had this opportunity.
I got to meet St. Tammany Parish President #MikeCooper. This was cool because his administration have really been a part of some great things that are really keeping the parish fresh and innovative.
My husband and Sarah's husband we didn't know this when we met but they actually went to culinary school together. They are so talented. We live in such a small world, and I love it.
Thank you so much to the sponsors who help make this fest a reality!!!!
